Salt Creek

On Sunday we had such a lovely November day!  We went down to Salt Creek for a walk, and it was a beautiful day at the beach.  The sun was shining, the ocean was sparkling, and the girls had a blast playing together in the sand.

We headed over to Laguna Beach for lunch and some shopping.  It was the perfect Sunday!

Mickey's Trick or Treat Halloween Party

On October 22nd we went to Mickey's Trick or Treat Halloween party at California Adventure with Teresa, Alyssa, Twyla, Paula, Jadyn and the girls favorite dance teacher, Miss Anna.  Laura, Anna's daugther works as a Candy Corn Princess during the event!  The girls had such a great time together talking to "What" the scarecrow without a brain, going on rides, dancing, hula-hooping, and dancing in the parade with the characters.  It was such a fun event!  We'll never pass it up again!

NUVO

Makenzie went to NUVO with her friends this past weekend in the Nu-bies category.  Instead of a whole weekend, it was only three hours and perfect for her and her friends.  Makenzie was totally starstruck with Ivan Koumaev during hip hop.  She kept giving him all these "hip-hop" gestures that she was ready to move on after he gave them the choreography.  It was SO FUNNY watch!

Halloween!

Of course it is just my luck that one camera broke and the other was on a weird setting for the last two weeks, causing me to take the worst pictures of so many great holiday events!  At least Manny showed me how to fix the settings for next time, but I am still bummed to have blurry pictures of Halloween.  Thankfully we have Halloween do-over this Sunday with Ella, Jordyn and Tyler!  More pictures to follow!

She had to be bribed with lots of chocolate to keep the costume on all night!
We had such a great time trick or treating!  We went around Balboa Island with Makenzie's BFF from school Mahrou.  Her parents own a delicious restaurant on the island, and after a few hours of trick or treating, we were treated to one of the best meals I've had in a long time!  The wine was flowing and the food kept coming.  It was such a great night!

Halloween Festivities

I can't believe Halloween is around the corner!  That means it's almost Christmas decorating time!!!  I took the girls to get their Halloween pictures taken at Kiddie Kandids, and it certainly didn't turn out so well.  Thankfully Jocelyn and Gracie were there, and Jocelyn was able to sneak a few pictures when the photographer wasn't looking :)

Gracie and Makenzie always get their Halloween pictures done together!

Pumpkin Patch 2009

On Saturday we had our annual Pumpkin Patch outing with Grammy, Uncle Goozie, and Auntie Lindsay.  It was 90 degrees so we didn't last too long before heading to lunch.

We did get to pull some pumpkins from the vine, and buy some fresh farm vegis from the stand.  It was so much fun!

Makenzie's Pajama Jam Birthday party

Happy birthday to you Makenzie!  I can't believe you are 8 years old!  It feels like just yesterday when I brought you home from the hospital all wrapped up in your little outfit that your daddy took so long to pick out for you!  You have grown up into such a remarkable young lady.  I am so proud of all that you have accomplished already, and can't wait to see what is in store for you in the future!  We love you to pieces!

We had Makenzie's pajama jam extravaganza at Pump It Up in Irvine.  Between the girls at dance, and the 2nd grade girls at Panorama, there were 30 little ladies all decked out in their pajamas, ready for some fun!  We decorated "sleepover kit" bags, had a pajama fashion show, and jumped on the four inflatables for two hours.  I thought Makenzie would be exhausted at the end of the night, but instead opted to go to the "after party" with her cousins...We had a late dinner at Johnny Rockets and the kids danced to the music at the District in Tustin.  It was such a great day!

Makenzie's First Day of 2nd Grade

I can't believe my big girl is starting 2nd grade! It seems like just yesterday I was dropping her off with Mrs. Kinslow in the 3-year-old room in preschool, and now she is off to 2nd grade. :( Where does the time go! We've seen big change over the past year with Makenzie. She has matured alot! She is an excellent reader, loves school, and even has an interest in boys! Oh no! She has been "coordinating" school outfits and accessories, and has a plan for hr hairstlyes every morning. She is so funny! Her teacher this year is Mrs. Silverman, who seems very much like a no-nonsense teacher. I hear she is a great teacher though, and that we can expect Makenzie to grow leaps and bounds this year!

Ay Carumba Team Party

Ay Carumba girls got to end the summer with a splash at their team swim party at the Irvine Aquatics Center. They had so much fun swimming, snacking and going down the slide. It was such a fun way to end the year!

Tuesday's at Disneyland!!

This summer we were so lucky to spend Tuesday's at the parks with Makenzie's good friend Jadyn and their dance teacher Ms. Anna. The girls were so excited to see Anna's daughter perform as a jellyfish in the Pixar parade, and cut in front of all the lines with Paula's awesome "front of the line" pass.

Wild Rivers for Gracie's 5th birthday

We celebrated Gracie's fifth birthday on a freezing summer day at Wild Rivers. It was SO MUCH FUN! Makenzie was so brave and went down some of the big slides all by herself. Delaney wasn't so sure at first, but loved the swing over the water after a few tries. Manny and Thad were awesome at the big wave pool, minus Manny losing his shorts of course!

Dress Rehearsal

Friday was Makenzie's dress rehearsal for the annual recital. She performed a ballet routine in the evening performance that nobody saw since everyone went to the matinee. I thought I'd post some pictures so at least everyone could see the cute costume!

Makenzie's not a first grader anymore!

Makenzie's last day of school was Thursday, and my Dad and I went to see her end of the year school performace. She told me it was the play Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and that she was Goldilocks. Of course I invited my dad along for the show, only to find out once we got there it was Reader's Theater. My dad was such a good sport, watching SUPER long stories read aloud by first graders! The songs were super cute though, I had to post Zip A Dee Doo Dah!

Makenzie the Showstopper

Makenzie had her very first dance competition this weekend at the Disneyland Hotel. Her fan section included Auntie Ali, Grandma Silvia, Tia Lynette, Lil Ly and Arianna. Mom, Dad and little sister were there too! Her team did great!

LUMPY turns one!

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Delaney Jaye, Happy birthday to you!

It's hard to believe how fast this year has flown by. We have watched our little lady grow up before our eyes. Makenzie, however, was very confused that Delaney woke up on her birthday looking the same as the day before! She thought for sure overnight she'd look "more one" than she did the day before. Manny brought her home a cupcake for breakfast, which kinda screwed up the rest of her day napwise...she was all sugared up!

Ali's Dinner

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday PANCHITA, Happy Birthday to you!

Disneyland for Ali's birthday

On Sunday the girls and I had a special day at Disneyland and California Adventure with Papa, Grandma and Auntie Al's for Ali's 21st birthday. Makenzie had such a great time, Papa even convinced her to get on California Screamin' again! Happy Birthday Auntie!
